Mads Lynnerup works in a variety of media often creating humorous and poignant works based on observations he makes of his immediate environment. Taking his inspiration from everyday life, his work comments on and draws attention to situations that might otherwise be overlooked. Through imagery, manipulation of text and social exchange, Lynnerup humorously takes aim at topics such as utopian space, economics and branding.
Lynnerup lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. He received an MFA from Columbia University, New York and a BFA from San Francisco Art Institute. He has been the subject of many solo and group exhibitions internationally and is included in the permanent collections of the San Jose Museum of Modern Art, Orange County Museum of Art, Miami Art Museum, and Blanton Museum of Art (Texas).
