Oakland based artist Chris Duncan mines questions of optics, geometric abstraction, color theory, and dynamic patterning. Working in painting and collage, Duncan is about seeing, both literally and metaphorically, while questioning the objectivity of the visually tangible. Self reflection and perception are the guiding forces in the artist's current body of installations.
Chris Duncan received his BFA from California College of the Arts and is currently completing his MFA at Stanford University. He has been the subject of numerous solo exhibitions at Baer Ridgway Exhibitions in San Francisco, Jeff Bailey Gallery in New York, and Nakaochiai Gallery in Tokyo, Japan. He has also been exhibited internationally in Brussels, Belgium, London, UK, and Wiesbaden, Germany. He is included in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art, NY library.
